A BEAUTIFUL, INTIMATE, SLEEPLESS SPECTACLE
NIGHT SWEATS
NIGHT SWEATS
2 - 10 FEBRUARY 2018 THE BLUE ROOM THEATRE
“I WANT MY LIFE TO BE REMEMBERED LIKE BLACK OUT POETRY. SOMETHING ORDINARY, LIKE A NEWS ARTICLE THAT CAN BE SEEN TO BE BEAUTIFUL IF YOU ONLY LOOK AT CERTAIN BITS.”
It’s a pyramid scheme, it’s a bit of beef between your teeth, it’s the crushing weight of being alive. Counting sheep can’t help you now. Endure an evening with an insomniac, and see what’s keeping them up for yet another sleepless night.
A rumination on mortality, privilege and perception, Night Sweats casts a frenetic internal monologue onto the stage; exposed and uncompromised in all its bizarre glory. A darkly humorous piece of storytelling, song and visual magic, this is one man’s ode to the witching hour.
This work is the first official production from Perth based company Static Drive. Night Sweats brings together emerging and established creatives to create an intimate spectacle, speaking to this age of short attention spans and uncertainty.

"Night Sweats is one of those shows that really grabs you right from the get go. It creeps under the skin and echoes in your brain long after you’ve left the dark shadowy silence of the theatre. "
